It's down to the last eight teams at this year's ALSA UI, as the Quarterfinal started a few minutes ago, using pre-announced motions dealing with "international security":
M1 - THW make aid inversely (sic) proportional to military spending.
M2 - THBT conscription of child soldiers by their parents is justified in the war for freedom.
M3 - THBT the UN should take sides against oppressive regimes (sic) which have lost legitimacy.
Earlier this afternoon at the Octofinals, teams were given the following motions under the heading "culture":
M1 - THBT indigenous people don't deserve special treatment.
M2 - THW allow (sic) the auctioning of cultural heritage.
M3 - THW apply ethnic-based quota on highly polarised residential areas.
