A new resource for the WSDC format

One challenge for a World Schools Debating Championship (WSDC) coach from our part of the world is, other than Simon Quinn's book on the format, there is little resource available on the web to help a novice coach direct the training of a team going to the WSDC.

One reason for this is most WSDC training is derived from experience, and not the one-off sort of experience, but repeated exposure to the tournament, its nuances, its rules, - not to mention an enduring love affair with debate and oratory.
Enter Samuel Myat San, a "debate addict" (going by his own words), who started as a debater for the Anglo-Chinese Junior College Debate Team and the Singapore National debate team. He eventually became the vice-president for the Harvard University Speech and Parliamentary Debate Society, which allowed him to focus on novice Harvard debaters and adjudicators.

Samuel has culled together his wealth of experience as a debater, adjudicator and coach to produce Debateable! , a free internet resource which features debate topics such as: "the set up", "case construction", "the arguments" and more.

Readers are also treated to topics on debate strategies such as "debate research", "the psychological dimension of debate", and "training tips".

NOTA BENE: The information on the website is free, and Samuel requests that the web site contents not be held out for sale.

Here's to more resources like this on the internet!
