Team Universitas Gajah Mada A (Caessar P, Astri Agustina, and Novel - most of whom are EDS UGM alumni) were crowned champions at last night's Surabaya Open Debate Event (SODE) after edging fellow finalist Angry Cock (comprised of Sony Lewi (ex-EDS UI), Rizal Kuddah (SCuD) and Erwin Susetyo (SMA 1 Sidoarjo) ).
Best Speaker of the tournament was Astri Agustina of UGM A.
The 2011 SODE was co-hosted by SMA 2 Surabaya and the Surabaya Community of Debaters ( SCuD) and followed the Asian parliamentary style. It had 4 preliminary rounds, and 4 elimination rounds. It is open to teams of all compositions.
